Sunset at Hazlewood Castle

On Monday and Tuesday this week I was joined by a number of wedding photographers for portfolio and training days at Hazlewood Castle and Walton Hall.

Monday’s portfolio day at Hazlewood Castle started with a talk about lighting and use of flash on and off camera before the models joined us for an afternoon and evening of wedding photography portfolio shooting. By working along side and being directed by myself, the photographers were able to see how I worked in a variety of locations and lighting situations which they were then able to try out themselves to create stunning results. great for their own portfolio and experience and even better when they take the knowledge to the next wedding they photograph. The day at Hazlewood Castle finished with a dusk and dark shoot, the sunset was rather lack lustre but thanks to some lighting jiggery pokery we were able to make the most of the skies and create some great results in camera.

On Tuesday the day began with a pre-wedding shoot with different models before they donned wedding attire and we again simulated a number of wedding scenarios and poses for the photographs to recreate whilst looking at lighting, both natural and flash. The day at Waterton Park was rounded off with a talk about workflow and business.

New Portfolio days in October for both Hazlewood Castle and Walton Hall are available to book now – full details here. Both Walton Hall and Hazlewood Castle dates in October will include an after dark shoot.
