Hazlewood Castle wedding photographer : Mike and Rebecca’s Hazlewood Castle wedding

Mike and Rebecca were married at Hazlewood Castle near York with a blessing in the Chapel of St Leonard’s taking place on Saturday. Usually on a wedding day our photography coverage starts with the bride for preparation, but today we caught up with Mike first down in the quarry at Hazlewood where a number of guests including the best man and groomsmen were clay pigeon shooting.

Following a quick change out of muddy boots, we moved onto the castle to join Rebecca in her room as make and hair were well under way. With Mike also getting ready in the castle we were able to bounce between the two rooms and photograph mike pre-ceremony as well as Rebecca.

The ceremony in Hazlewood Castle’s chapel complete we quickly cleared the formal photographs Mike and Rebecca had requested before taking a stroll through the grounds with the bride and groom for photographs of them on their own. Although the temperatures were a shade higher than the January average it was still chilly and so we quickly completed the photographs allowing Mike and Rebecca to join their guests inside for the drinks reception.

The following photographs include many of the ones we played on the large screen during their evening reception. This is included with all wedding photography packages.

Bridal Boudoir Portfolio and Training Day February 28th 2012. Join me for a day of Bridal Boudoir photography training at Hazlewood Castle near York. The day will begin with a photo shoot in the bridal suite at Hazlewood Castle with a professional model, this is hands on photography time and all the images you take are yours to use on your website or portfolio without restrictions. During the photo shoot I’ll demonstrate the poses that flatter, create impact and sell. There will be outfit changes and a chance to direct as we shoot with a mix of daylight, flash, continuous lighting and video light.

During the afternoon I will edit a number of the files live in Photoshop to demonstrate airbrushing techniques and body sculpting to ensure every boudoir photograph you deliver to your client shows them at their very best. You’ll then be able to put into practise the techniques using a number of my own actions and free to download plugins to edit some of your files on the day. The day will be rounded off with a talk about boudoir albums, marketing and a question and answer session.

Waterton Park wedding open day 19th February Waterton Park Hotel wedding fayre on April 22nd

I am pleased to announce I’ll be attending the Waterton Park Hotel wedding open day on the 19th February between 11-4 and the Wedding Fayre on April 22nd again between 11-4. The wedding open day on the 19th February is an ideal time to view the Wakefield wedding venue laid out as it would be on a wedding day. During the open day I’ll be available with a number of Waterton Park wedding albums and photographs form the weddings I’ve photographed at the stunning island venue in the last few years. Allerton Castle and Hazlewood Castle wedding fayres February 2012

Mark and Michaela married at Bagden Hall near Huddersfield between Christmas and the new year. Wet blustery weather certainly didn’t detract from the wedding day and called for a more creative approach to the photographs as we managed literally a couple of minutes outside before the heavens opened!

Waterton Park Hotel wedding photography – Andy and Helena’s wedding

A Moulin Rouge themed wedding at Waterton Park Hotel as Andy and Helena married between Christmas and the new year. Helena’s dress and colour had been a kept secret from almost everyone. A superb ian Stuart creation that the company had willingly coloured deep red in keeping with Helena’s planned theme.

Although dry the wind was causing a few issues and resulted in the majority of guest formal photographs being taken inside, thankfully there are plenty of locations within Walton Hall for the group photos. Andy and Helena were a little more hardy and managed to venture outdoors for a few photographs before the wedding breakfast.

2011 – January to June a year in wedding photographs – Part 1

2011 has certainly been my busiest year ever, with a record number of weddings and the introduction of training courses and workshops there’s certainly been a lot going on. As we approach the end of the year I wanted to put together a gallery of wedding photographs from 2011, but in starting to look through photographs I quickly realised by the end of June there was already more than enough for a gallery, and so I have decided to split the year’s weddings and workshops into two parts with January to June 2011 below. The July to December gallery will be available in the new year.

I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank all the bride and groom’s who have allowed me the privilege of photographing their wedding day. Over the the last year I’ve photographed at some amazing wedding venues throughout the UK with fabulous bride and grooms.
