Graphistudio wedding albums – Italian Storybook wedding albums

For the last eight years we have proudly supplied Italian Storybooks from album manufacturer Graphistudio, a couple of weeks ago, I was  invited to visit their factory around an hour north of Venice  to view the album production process and experience first hand, the care and craftsmanship that goes into producing each and every wedding album.

The photographs and comments below read more like an advertisement for Graphistudio, but hopefully they convey my own amazement in what I saw and learnt during the visit. I receive no financial incentive, discount or otherwise from Graphistudio, I simply love their product and am proud to offer the albums to my bride and grooms.

I was fortunate enough to view one of my own albums in production. The album of Andy and Sarah’s Allerton Castle wedding is seen here in the covering area. The Crystal acrylic cover is initially produced in an off limits sterile dust free environment before being moved back to the covers area for bonding.

The printing room features an array of printers from the traditional silver halide photographic printers  to the latest and next generation Canon Dreamlab producing HD prints. The Attention to detail is incredible, Graphistudio pride themselves on the print quality of their albums and to ensure consistency and accuracy, printers are switched off, emptied of fluids and re-calibrated every thirty minutes. Although a massive cost in terms of time and money it’s this kind of attention to detail that sets apart a Graphistudio album from the competition.

Album covers. Each album is handmade and the album covers are bespoke to each and every book.

Every component of the wedding album is bespoke and made for that one book, there are no off the shelf parts or pre-made stock waiting to be used. During production each album is measured with a micrometer and where a wooden album box is being produced, these details are fed into the plotter’s computer that will then custom cut each box to give that vacuum packed hand in glove feel.

Each wedding album takes several weeks to be produced, undergoing various production processes, whilst some companies offer a one week turnaround on their wedding albums the Storybooks produced here undergo a drying out process and stringent quality control checks to ensure they meet with the Graphistudio’s high standards. The Factory can presently handle 2500 albums per week!

Not the most exciting of photographs, but the first pallet contains 22 wedding albums ready to ship to the US. Upto 500 albums per day leave the factory to be sent to photographers in Europe and the US.

The factory floor. Albums move around the vast area as they undergo production, when we enquired as to the where in the factory Andy and Sarah’s wedding album was, it took literally seconds to locate it and less than two minutes to have the album in front of us!

Albums vist the quality control department more than ten times during the production process. At this point the album is being checked for printing and also that it corresponds with the photographers submitted sequence for page layouts.
