Bolton Abbey Wedding Photographer – Nick and Emma’s wedding photography at Bolton Abbey and the Devonshire Arms.
Nick and Emma were married just before Christmas in the Priory at Bolton Abbey before celebrating at the Devonshire Arms. Having been guests at Wayne and Gillian’s wedding two years ago at Hazlewood Castle, Nick and Emma had seen me at work previously and also plenty of examples of my work and so were happy to go along with my suggestions and ideas, including waiting for the rain to actually start again so we could go outside. (Although we did get the above photograph so you could say it was worth dodging the rain shower).
Emma had decided against bridal preparation photographs on the day allowing me a little more time to take some landscape photos around the Priory before their wedding. Although I had taken the same photographs previously I always like to photograph the church and venue on the actual day of the wedding rather than a photograph from my library. Before the wedding ceremony we were also able to photograph Nick and his groomsen as well as guests arriving prior to Emmas arrival. Emma managed to beat my late bride record for the year by arriving 45 minutes late for the wedding ceremony due to heavy traffic on the journey from home.
With a ceremony running late we knew that after leaving church daylight would be in short supply and to make the most of the grounds around the Priory we would need to work quickly to complete the list of group photographs and then those of Nick and Emma. Thankfully the weather held and we were able to literally fly through the group photographs allowing quality time with just the bride and groom before we headed to the Devonshire Arms. Although running slightly late leaving church Nick and Emma were able to enjoy a drink and chat with their guests before sitting down for the wedding breakfast on time.
Following the wedding breakfast and speeches we made use of the inside of the Devonshire Arms and it’s features before the rain started and we were able to venture outdoors (I might add carefully shielding Nick, Emma and the wedding dress under multiple brollies).
The following photographs include a number that were used on the large screen slideshow played during the evening reception. The slideshow displaying fully edited photographs allows the bride, groom and their guests a sneak peak at the wedding photographs before the main wedding gallery goes live a few days later.
